Peer Tutoring

A peer tutor is a senior student who has gained experience and skills at university. They are an intermediary figure between the student and the various offices and services available at the University of Pisa. They are also a figure to whom any problem regarding the course of study, the mode of study or the student/lecturer relationship can be entrusted.

Specifically, the main activities carried out by the tutor are:

  • Diagnosing problems which may hinder the normal course of study;
  • Offering students a solid point of reference whom they can contact about both regular and supplementary academic activities.
  • Providing personalised support, especially for those students who have more difficulty planning and taking exams (e.g. working and/or inactive students) by providing a clear study and academic career plan.
