The Head of the Department’s Teaching Unit, Dr. Michela Vivaldi, attends the meetings as an auditor
Functions:
- monitoring the programmes and courses and the quality of teaching as well as the activity of the student service provided by the professors and researchers;
- identifying the indicators for assessing the results of the above-mentioned activities;
- advice on launching and discontinuing study programmes, on regulations and on the organisation of degree programmes, on coherence between the credits assigned to the academic activities and the specific objectives of the degree programme;
- drafting the annual report on the performance of teaching activities, based on the reports submitted by the individual degree programmes.
For monitoring the activities above, the Committee uses the information found in various documents (teaching questionnaires, Review Reports, SUA-CdS forms, STELLA questionnaire), the data obtained by the University Statistics Office, as well as the appropriate indicators concerning:
- the sustainability of the degree programmes;
- the attractiveness of the degree programmes: students registered or enrolled;
- the teaching results (current students, drop out rate, credits);
- the number of graduates;
- the level of employment of graduates;
- student mobility;
- internships.
The core objective of such monitoring is to assess the actual qualitative levels of the services provided (quality control).
The Committee, in strict adherence to its institutional mandate, gives when required, opinions of various kinds, referred to above, with the purpose of assuring the future quality of the services provided (quality assurance) and with a view to continuous improvement (quality improvement).
