An interconnected multilevel framework of servitization: (Macro-Meso-Micro) Perspective
Abstract:
The concept of servitization tackles the transition in business models from the “end of a transactional relationship” logic to the “long-term sustainable relationship” logic. Existing literature focusing on the single-level analysis of servitization limits our understanding of the processes fostering this shift. Therefore, we conducted a mixed review, incorporating both scientometric and systematic literature analysis, to uncover the multilevel servitization perspective.
We proposed an interconnected multilevel framework, which identifies the factors at each level that prompt interconnection and foster the shift towards servitization. The framework highlights four themes (emerging, motor, basic, and niche theme) carrying nine clusters (sustainable servitization, sustainable development, relationship quality, digital servitization, product service systems, industry 4.0, contextual terms, value creation, and digital twins).
We contribute to the servitization literature by constructing an interconnected multilevel framework that links sustainable value creation at the (macro-meso-micro) levels and proposing future research prospects to understand multilevel servitization.
