The Department promotes and supports the research activity of its lecturers, whether carried out independently or in collaboration with researchers from other departments, universities, institutions and research organisations. Such activities include preparing scientific publications, releasing results obtained, participating in research projects, engaging in interdisciplinary research and applications, supervising doctoral theses, and the organisation of scientific meetings.
The Department promotes and supports all activities aimed at enhancing scientific knowledge for the development of society. Such Third Mission activities include collaborations between local organisations and businesses, organising training courses and scientific dissemination. These activities also include scientific and cultural initiatives with which the Department promotes its image.
